More Than Just A Driveway

Driveways aren’t just for cars. They double as a play area and workspace for all kinds of projects. Another thing about driveways is they can double as a design feature that fits the house.

Driveway Styles:

  • Asphalt Driveways: Can be plain hot-mix asphalt, chip seal with gravel pressed in for texture, pattern-stamped asphalt, and acrylic polymer colored asphalt. It resists cracks, easy to maintain, and typically lasts 15-20 years.
  • Crushed Stone & Gravel: Choices include crushed shale, granite, limestone & concrete, and gravel in various colors and sizes. Both the stone and gravel are economical and are freeze/thaw resistant.
  • Pavers & Cobblestone: Pavers come in a wide range of shapes and patterns (i.e. hexagon, bow tie, keyhole). Cobblestone is more of a traditional style and only comes in a rectangular shape. Cobblestone can easily last 100 years, pavers somewhat less depending on soil preparation and drainage, but both are easy to replace broken pieces.
  • Concrete: Made to last and offers some flexibility in its appearance.
    • Polished Concrete: High-gloss finish that never needs waxing.
    • Colored Concrete: Can mimic color of surrounding area to blend in nature, color can visually break up large ares, can hide any future staines, and more.
    • Decorative Concrete Overlays: Covers up imperfections in your existing concrete floors. An alternative option to give it a complete face-lift at a lower cost.
    • Stained Concrete: Can mimic everything from polished marble, tanned leather, natural stone, or even stained wood.
    • Stamped Concrete: You can achieve the high-end look of stone or brick pavement-often at a lower cost.
