Cleaning

Our cleaning process is quite simple, but we use top of the line tools and cleaners available.

  1. Pre-Inspection  (evaluation of spots, stains, spills, etc.)
  2. Spot Removal (removes most grease spills & spots)
  3. Pre-Conditioning (extricates embedded dirt & soil)
  4. Steam Extraction (lifts out dirt, soap scum, and other residue)
  5. Finishing Touches (fluffed & pads are added)

Repair

Before you consider replacing your carpet you should look at your repair options. Some options may be:

  • Stretching: Used for loose and wrinkled carpets. It prolongs the carpet’s life and reduces the danger of tripping on the loose material. The most common reasons for this is poor installation, improper tack strips installed, dampened areas, and high traffic areas.
  • Patching: used for small areas that have burns, stains, or something similar. If there is no leftover matching carpet available, we can repair it with a piece from a closet or similar hidden location.
  • Seaming: The seam tape that bonds the carpets together is removed and re-trimmed. Once it’s seamed it is stretched once again to create a seamless look.
  • Weaving and Fraying: This occurs when you move furniture or sometimes when a pet pulls up strands. In this case one of our experts comes to your home and re-weaves the damaged area(s). We take a piece from your extra carpets or from the side of the wall where we can perform carpet stretching. This makes the repair seamless and blends in.
  • Binding: This is when a cotton or synthetic material is sewn to the edges of a carpet. It is done for both aesthetic reasons and to keep it from unraveling or becoming frayed.
  • Rug Fringing: Done mostly on Oriental Rugs and protects the body of the rug from sliding off the end of the threads.
  • Water Damage: When water is trapped anywhere, mold growth starts within the first 36-48 hours. See our cleaning process for how to repair this.

Replace

Replacing your carpet doesn’t happen often, unless you’re in the business for it. The style, feel, texture, and function varies based on the materials you choose. Through this process, we help you make it as seamless as possible.

When choosing a carpet make sure to:

  • Know your total budget. Make sure to include material, padding, and installation.
  • Have an idea of what style you’re in the market for.
  • Speak up about which features are most important to you. This includes high-traffic areas, comfort, stain resistance, hypoallergenic, etc.
  • Ask about padding options.

When you’ve chosen your carpet make sure to choose your padding as well. Without a pad the overall carpet is less comfortable to walk on. This also provides stability, insulation, noise reduction, and can extend the life of your carpet.

Fibers

Styles & Types

  • Plush: Also known as Saxony or textured carpet. It is one of the most popular styles due to its clean, velvety, smooth look. It’s appearance allows it to be used in almost any type of home décor.
  • Berber: It has a distinct thicker looped construction that creates a dense, tight, weave, making it perfect for high-traffic areas. Design wise they typically contain flecks of color or are solid-colored. It’s also easy to keep clean due to the textured surface.
  • Frieze: The ‘Modern Shag Carpet’. The high-twist of the fibers creates a tousled look that is great for casual living. Footprints and vacuum prints are easily concealed, yet cozy between your toes.
  • Patterned: A combination of plush and barber to create designs or patterns in the surface. Patterns vary from geometric, squares, chevrons, lines, diamonds, etc. These patterns also can appear in a repetitive or random pattern.
  • Carpet Tile & Commercial Carpet Looped Construction: Commercial-grad is made with tight loops. Most commonly used in business and commercial buildings because of its durability.

***Carpet tile is square, rectangular, or hexagonal pieces that are laid together. These are seen in commercial spaces, but can work in residential areas like basements, rec room, and enclosed patios. Easy to replace if stained or damaged.***

Carpet Pile Height

  • High Pile: Fibers are looser, which creates a plush luxurious feeling.
  • Low Pile: Dense appearance and easy to care for.

Carpet Weight

  • High Face Weight: More yarn = higher quality
  • Low Face Weight: Less dense
